Webber Gives Calabasas a Lift, 5-4

Sean Webber’s two-run single in the eighth inning Thursday lifted Calabasas to a 5-4 victory over Van Nuys-Birmingham in a District 20 game at Birmingham High.

Webber, who had a double and drove in three runs, singled with none out to drive in Tony Sulser and Jon Voita.

Webber, Chaney Sheffield and Rick Stockton each had two hits for Calabasas (5-1).

Van Nuys-Birmingham (4-3) scored an unearned run in the top of the eighth to take a 4-3 lead.

Bill McGrath, Joe Rubin and George Gardund each had two hits for Van Nuys-Birmingham.

West Hills-Chaminade 12, Burbank-Burroughs 1--Spencer Gordon had three hits, including two home runs, and five RBIs in a District 20 game at Chaminade High that was called after six innings because of the 10-run rule.

Nate Dunlap (2-1) pitched a five-hitter and struck out five for West Hills-Chaminade (3-3).

Valencia 12, Saugus 3--Brady Burrill had three hits, including a two-run homer, and drove in three runs for Valencia at Valencia High.

Royal 4, Agoura 3--Bobby Egan hit a solo home run with one out in the seventh to tie the score, 3-3, and Royal scored the winning run three batters later on an error.
