Church Leaders to Speak at ‘Millennium Forum’

Five leaders of Los Angeles churches and synagogues will speak on “The Impact of Religion on the New Millennium” at a city-sponsored event scheduled for Monday.

Father John S. Bakas of Saint Sophia Cathedral, Bishop Charles E. Blake of West Angeles Church, Rabbi Harvey J. Fields of Wilshire Boulevard Temple, Rev. Cecil L. Murray of First AME Church and Rabbi David Wolpe of Sinai Temple will speak at the event, which is the 11th in the ongoing “Millennium Forum” series.

The city will compile videotapes of the Millennium Forum series and documents submitted by residents to create a collection reflecting the community’s ideas about the next millennium.

The event will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the Salter Family Theater, Beverly Hills High School, 321 Moreno Drive. The forum is free, but because of limited space, reservations are recommended. Call (310) 285-2438.
