Hoping to expand an already large product line, Toshiba America Information Systems Inc. in Irvine is expected to announce today that it will begin making computer servers for the U.S. market. The hardware company, which has been in the server business in Japan for 20 years, said the time is right for its American arm to expand its line of business devices. “We think it’s a market with lots of opportunities,” said Marc Tanguay, senior manager for server products. Toshiba’s new product line, which will be called Magnia, will include machines that cost between $3,000 and $4,000. The computers, which will be built in Toshiba’s Irvine facilities, will ship within 45 days, officials said.
