* Natural Wonders Inc., a retailer of gifts based on science and nature themes, said it settled a patent-infringement claim by Hasbro Inc. and restated its fiscal first-quarter loss to add the costs of the settlement. The Fremont-based company said the patent claim involved sales in the last two fiscal years ended Jan. 31. Costs of the settlement for the first quarter ended May 2 are $525,000, or 4 cents a share. As a result, Natural Wonders restated its first-quarter loss to $4.58 million, or 57 cents a share, from a previously reported $4.25 million, or 53 cents.

* Raytheon Co. sold its entire 17.62% stake in Simi Valley-based Whittaker Corp. at a loss, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Raytheon was Whittaker’s largest shareholder before selling its stake for about $23.6 million to an investment group led by Canpartners Investments IV last week. It bought the shares for $67.5 million in 1996.

* Internet search company Infoseek Corp. saw its stock turn up sharply on rumors that it would be taken over by a media company. Infoseek jumped $2.50 to $32.63 and was the most-active issue on Nasdaq.
