Sparks’ Feaster May Have Broken Foot

Allison Feaster, the Sparks’ first-round draft pick from Harvard, may have broken a bone in her right foot in Los Angeles’ 73-69 loss at Sacramento Tuesday night.

Her injury occurred in the first half, in front of the Sparks’ bench. She tried to continue playing, but stopped at midcourt and began hopping off the court seconds later, unable to put weight on the foot.

“It’s not good--the first X-rays showed a possible fracture,” said Sparks General Manager Rhonda Windham, who added that Feaster will see a specialist today.

Feaster, the nation’s leading scorer last season, was the fifth player taken in the WNBA draft. The 5-foot-11 guard-forward played well in training camp, and in an exhibition game at Sacramento scored 28 points in 27 minutes. Feaster scored five points in each of the Sparks’ first two games as a reserve but was injured five minutes after entering Tuesday’s game.
