Kernan’s Hitting Leads Vigilantes

Phil Kernan drove in three runs as the Vigilantes beat host Grays Harbor, 5-2, in a Western Baseball League game Thursday.

Kernan, who plays left field, had a run-scoring single in the first inning and capped a three-run fifth with a double. It was his fourth double of the season.

Brad Gennaro had an RBI single in the fifth for the Vigilantes (12-13), who have won four of five.

Manny Gagliano hit his fifth home run of the season for the Vigilantes. Gennaro and Kernan each had two hits and Brian Grebeck scored twice.

Mike Smith (2-2) pitched 6 2/3 innings, giving up four hits, for the victory.

John Homan gave up one hit and struck out three in 2 1/3 innings for his fourth save.
