Three D Losses Widen

Share

Three D Departments Inc., the Costa Mesa owner of Three D Bed & Bath stores, said its fiscal third-quarter losses more than doubled to $1.52 million, or 63 cents a share, from a $581,635 deficit, or 24 cents a share, a year earlier.

Sales in the period ended May 2 fell 12.2% to $8.6 million from $9.8 million a year earlier. Sales at stores open at least a year--a key measure of growth--fell 15%.

Three D, which operates 22 stores in California, Arizona and Connecticut, attributed the lower results to tighter lending requirements from suppliers, which reduced the flow of new products to its stores.
