Share

Police will check drivers for signs of drug and alcohol use at a sobriety checkpoint in Oxnard starting at 7 p.m. today.

Officers from the Oxnard and Port Hueneme police departments also will screen drivers for proper licensing, Oxnard Police Officer Ken Klopman said.

Drivers suspected of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol will be arrested, and unlicensed drivers or people driving with a suspended license will be cited and their cars impounded, Klopman said.
