Burbank Airport Proposal

Re “Councilman Proposes International Flights for Burbank Airport,” June 6.
I would like to commend [Pasadena] Councilman [William] Paparian for his honesty in stating his reason for wanting international flights from Burbank Airport: money! Unfortunately, when money talks, good sense walks.
This no-brainer would seek to further impair the health of the men, women and children of Burbank by exposing them to higher levels of burnt-out fumes from jet fuel, more gasoline fumes from increased traffic and more deafening noise from increased flights.
Obviously, Pasadena seeks to further oppress the citizens of Burbank for the sake of a few more dollars in retail sales.
Don’t the people of Pasadena care that their council seeks to denigrate the health and well-being of the people in Burbank? When did love thy neighbor to death become a tenet for Pasadena?
