Tadiran Ltd., an Israel-based unit of electronics company Koor Industries Ltd., will pay $35 million for a division of Sunnyvale, Calif.-based California Microwave Inc., expanding its communications business and strengthening its U.S. operations. The division produces parts for wireless microwave communications equipment, as well as parts and systems for telecommunications infrastructure. “We see a strong synergy between our operations” and those of the California Microwave division, Tadiran Chief Executive Israel Zamir said. Tadiran paid “less than the value of the assets of the unit,” Zamir said. Tadiran produces equipment and systems using microwave technology in commercial and military units, such as Tadiran Telecommunications, Spectralink and Elisra. Tadiran “will use this as a basis to expand” in the U.S. on the commercial side, Zamir said.
