Blue Cross Appoints Cordero as Finance Officer

Blue Cross of California has appointed Juan Cordero vice president of finance, the company announced this week.

An accountant formerly with Touche Ross, Cordero is now responsible for financial analysis of life insurance and workers’ compensation programs for the Blue Cross of California, a 3.6-million member subsidiary of Woodland Hills-based WellPoint Health Networks.

Cordero joined Blue Cross of California in 1994 as manager of group finance and became assistant controller in the corporate office in 1996. He holds an MBA from UCLA.
