A 20-year-old Camarillo man wanted in Connecticut on eight felony warrants was arrested Wednesday by local and federal agents, authorities said.

Matthew Lee Dubreuil was apprehended in Camarillo after a federal judge in New Haven, Conn., issued a federal arrest warrant on suspicion that he had fled to California to escape prosecution, said Gary G. Auer, an FBI special agent supervisor.

Dubreuil is wanted in Connecticut on suspicion of reckless endangerment, unlawful discharge of a firearm, criminal use of a firearm, carrying a pistol without a permit, two counts of risk of injury to a minor, possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with the intent to sell, possession of marijuana with the intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a school, four counts of probation violation and second-degree larceny.

The allegations stem from warrants issued between Dec. 23, 1997, and Feb. 6 by a lower-court judge in Connecticut at the request of the police department in Norwich, Conn., Auer said.

Dubreuil is being held without bail in Ventura County Jail awaiting extradition proceedings.
