DNA Tests Support Sheppard’s Claim

From Times Wire Reports

The first tests of Sam Sheppard’s DNA suggest a third person was present in his house when his wife was slain in 1954, supporting his claim that an intruder killed her, an attorney for Sheppard’s son said. Sheppard’s body was exhumed in the fall so his DNA could be tested against blood taken from the scene of the crime that inspired TV’s “The Fugitive.” Terry Gilbert, a lawyer for Sam Reese Sheppard, said the results showed the blood on the doctor’s pants and in two other spots were not from Sheppard or his wife.
