From Bloomberg News

The Internal Revenue Service will open its 150 offices nationwide on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the next six weeks to help taxpayers meet the April 15 filing deadline.

The new hours are part of the IRS’ customer improvements recommended by Vice President Al Gore after last year’s hearings on taxpayer problems.

In addition, during the three Saturdays preceding the deadline, the IRS will help elderly, low-income and earned-income tax credit taxpayers with filing.
