Edison Mission Gets $400 Million From U.S.
IRVINE —
Edison Mission Energy received $400 million from the U.S. Overseas Private Investment Corp., a federal agency, for two projects the power company is developing in Thailand.
The power company said Wednesday it received $200 million for its Kui Buri project.
The 734-megawatt coal plant will be built about 135 miles southwest of Bangkok in partnership with two Thai companies.
The other $200 million will support Edison Mission’s Tri-Energy project, a 700-megawatt gas-fired power plant in Ratchaburi province.
