City Council Will Keep Meeting on Mondays

Regular meetings of the City Council will remain on Mondays. Mayor Jeffery M. Thomas had proposed that the meeting dates be changed to Tuesdays because of conflicts with several national holidays that fall on Mondays.

Most council members were opposed to the switch, however, and Thomas said he received numerous complaints from residents and civic groups.

“I thought of this as a check for everyone to see if it worked, but change is difficult, so why make it a big deal?” he said. “It’s not that big a deal for me.”
