Block Names New Chief of Troubled Jail System
Sheriff Sherman Block announced Wednesday that he is transferring his custody chief, Barry King, out of the department’s embattled Jail Division.
Replacing King will be Bob Pash, who has been heading up the department’s Court Services Division.
“Barry has done an outstanding job,” Block said. “He deserves to be taken out of that pressure cooker.”
Block’s announcement comes on the heels of the disclosure last week that two of the top commanders in the Jail Division have been placed on medical leave because of high blood pressure.
