Spotlight: U.S., States Reach New Internet Tax Accord

Share

Congressional lawmakers and state governors said they reached a new compromise over legislation to impose a “time out” on taxes targeting Internet commerce. Christopher Cox (R-Newport Beach), would bar states and localities from levying new taxes on Internet access and online services for three years. The bill would also set up a 29-member commission to study how to proceed with a fair tax system once the moratorium ends.
