Coyote Network Systems Withdraws Offer to Acquire NUKO

Share

Coyote Network Systems in Westlake Village has withdrawn its offer to acquire NUKO Information Systems of San Jose in a stock-for-stock deal announced Dec. 12.

Officials said one reason the offer was withdrawn was because Coyote could not reach agreement on the transaction with NUKO’s larger creditors and other interests.

“We are disappointed that the acquisition of NUKO will not be completed,’ said James J. Fiedler, Coyote chairman and chief executive officer. “Despite the operating synergies between the two companies, we determined that going forward would no longer be in the best interests of Coyote’s shareholders.”

Fiedler said Coyote will continue its efforts to acquire other companies that have complementary technologies.

Coyote, through its subsidiaries, provides telecommunications switching systems and networks. One of the company’s core businesses, Coyote Technologies, provides switching products that enable telecom and Internet service providers to expand into new markets and generate new local, long distance and Internet revenues.
