Funeral Procession Route

Memorial events for the three Los Angeles city firefighters killed in a helicopter crash begin at 8 a.m. today in the San Fernando Valley, concluding with a memorial service at the Sports Arena. Services are at 8 a.m. for Michael McComb at Fire Station 90 at 7921 Woodley Ave., Van Nuys, and for Michael Butler and Eric Reiner at Fire Station 81 at 14123 Nordhoff St., Arleta. Their bodies will be escorted by firefighters to downtown Los Angeles, meeting a procession of firetrucks from other agencies leaving at 8:45 a.m. from the training center at 1700 Stadium Way. At 9 a.m., the public can join a procession at Exposition Boulevard and Figueroa Street. All three processions meet at Figueroa Street and Jefferson Boulevard at 9:30 a.m., proceeding together to the Sports Arena for a 10 a.m. service.
