Chilly Temperatures and Rain Head for Valley
The San Fernando Valley will experience unseasonably cool temperatures this weekend as a storm that began in the Gulf of Alaska makes its way into Southern California, forecasters said.
“It will be relatively cool for Southern California, particularly for this late in March,” said John Sherwin, a meteorologist with WeatherData Inc.
Variably cloudy skies, showers and thunderstorms are predicted for today with high temperatures in the mid-50s in the valleys and in the mid-40s in High Desert communities, Sherwin said.
In the Antelope Valley, the snow level is expected to drop to 2,000 feet.
A dusting is also expected in the Santa Susana and Simi Valley foothills, Sherwin said.
On Sunday, partly cloudy skies and intermittent showers are expected throughout the day.
Temperatures will remain in the upper 40s in the desert and upper 50s in the valleys.
