Chemical Prompts Restaurant Evacuation
BURBANK —
Scores of diners were evacuated from a restaurant early Sunday after apparently being overcome by pepper spray, fire dispatchers said.
One person was taken to a hospital after the 10:15 a.m. incident at Lancers Family Restaurant. Several others complained of stinging eyes and nausea.
Fire investigators had not determined the source of the spray Sunday evening.
Carmen Cuebas, the restaurant’s manager, said it was closed for three hours following the incident.
