New High School to Be Dedicated
Santa Ana Unified School District and Santa Ana College will officially dedicate their Middle College High School today.
Designed for bright, low-achieving high school students, Middle College High School opened at Santa Ana College in August. More than 80 students from Santa Ana’s four comprehensive high schools enrolled in the program, in which they take college courses while still in high school.
Santa Ana’s educational experiment is the 24th such project in the country and the second in Orange County. Newport-Mesa Unified School District opened a similar program at the Orange Coast College campus in 1996.
