Marine Gets 10 Years in Buddy’s Death

A U.S. Marine convicted of involuntary manslaughter was sentenced to 10 years in prison in the death of a fellow Marine on Okinawa island. Pfc. Philip S. Oxendine, 20, of Lumberton, N.C., was found guilty in the death of Lance Cpl. Christopher Epley. Military investigators say Epley, 22, of Brandenburg, Ky., was accidentally dropped from a third-story barracks window in December during a game called “trust,” in which some Marines took turns dangling each other by their ankles.
