Re “SOS Members Don’t March to the 12 Steps,” April 27.
With all due respect to Alcoholics Anonymous and its good works over the decades, not everyone is of a religious bent nor needs to be. Bravo to James Christopher for founding the SOS [Secular Organizations for Sobriety] program, providing addicts with a forum for recovery that is not based in myth or superstition.
Maybe the Randall boys, who found themselves unwelcome by the Boy Scouts because of their atheism, could take Christopher’s cue and start their own alternative scouting movement. That would certainly be their good deed for the day.
