Help’s Available on National Anxiety Screening Day

Everyone experiences anxiety, panic, nervousness or tension occasionally. But if those feelings are dominating your life, you may have an anxiety disorder.

If you think you may need help, free advice is available on Wednesday during National Anxiety Screening Day (as well as on Thursday at some locations).

Mental health professionals around the country will be conducting assessments and, if needed, referring people for treatment.

Locally, mental health practitioners will be available at Las Encinas Hospital, 2900 E. Del Mar Ave., Pasadena, on Wednesday from 9 to 11 a.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m.

On Thursday, the Los Angeles County Psychological Assn. will have psychologists available from 4 to 7 p.m. at Borders Books & Music, 330 S. La Cienega Blvd., West Hollywood. In the Valley, also on Thursday, stop by Barnes & Noble, 16461 Ventura Blvd., Encino, from noon to 6 p.m.
