Interlink Electronics Posts 21% Increase in Revenues

Interlink Electronics in Camarillo reported first-quarter revenues of $5.2 million, up 21% from $4.3 million in the first quarter of 1997.

Net income was $50,000 or 1 cent per share, compared with $253,000 or 6 cents per share for the first quarter of 1997. In comparison with the fourth quarter of 1997, earnings improved $824,000 from a fourth-quarter loss of $774,000.

“Our efforts to quickly return the company to profitability are clearly measured by the results we achieved in the first quarter,” said E. Michael Thoben, Interlink chairman, chief executive officer and president. “We are confident we understand the technical challenges associated with the initial productions of VersaPad technology and remain excited by its prospects for the future.”

Interlink designs and manufactures computer pointing-device technologies. The company’s products include wireless hand-held remote controls, wireless keyboards, touchpads, pointing sticks and desktop PC pointing devices.

The company maintains offices in Camarillo and Tokyo.
