First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton said Monday she will visit American historic sites in need of repair and promote her effort to restore them.

The first lady said her summer bus trips will promote the significance of the sites and the importance of protecting them.

The trips are part of Clinton’s plan to save treasures such as the flag that inspired “The Star Spangled Banner.”

Clinton is expected to make several short trips, beginning with a visit in mid-July to Seneca Falls, N.Y., where the women’s suffrage movement began 150 years ago.
