The U.S. Department of Defense is looking for small companies to receive awards of up to $850,000 for research and development of defense-related technologies.
The department has compiled a list of 250 topics of research sought by the various armed services and defense-related departments.
Specifically, the department’s $550-million Small Business Innovation Research program seeks U.S.-owned companies with up to 500 employees. The program awards up to $100,000 for six months for companies to demonstrate the feasibility of their research and development approaches. Successful companies will then be able to compete for second-phase funding of up to $700,000.
Proposals must be submitted by Aug. 19. To apply and for a list of research topics sought, call (703) 205-1596.
