Ballot Recount Confirms Outcome of Mayoral Race
A hand recount of the votes cast in the City Council election reconfirmed Jeff Jennings’ loss to Tom Hasse.
The former mayor asked the city clerk for a recount after losing his seat on the council to Hasse by 29 votes in the April election.
The ballots were tallied by hand Monday and Tuesday and the results were the same: Jennings lost by 29 votes to Hasse, according to City Manager Harry Peacock.
Jennings, who paid for the recount, said he was satisfied with the results.
