TV Producer Cannell Honored by School
Emmy award-winning television writer and producer Stephen J. Cannell recently received the Prentice School’s Lifetime Achievement award.
The private school for children with dyslexia created this award to honor those with the condition who have succeeded despite the lifelong struggles with language.
Cannell was an academic failure as a child. He flunked out of two schools and graduated at the bottom of his high school class because he was never diagnosed as dyslexic.
Early in life, in spite of his academic failures, Cannell set his sights on becoming a writer.
Since then, he has created and produced over 35 television shows including “The Rockford Files,” “Baretta,” “The A-Team,” “Wiseguy,” “Hunter,” “The Commish” and “Silk Stalkings.” He has published three novels.
