Rich Sybert

Share

It was with deep sadness that I read the articles about Rich Sybert and his aloof denial, then contrite apology, for dirty campaign tricks.

What makes it all the more disappointing is that Rich is a Harvard-educated lawyer and should be upholding the law, not breaking it.

However shocking these incidents have been, they are certainly not the first. Having strongly supported Rich in the past, his latest crimes cause me to feel cheated. However, we should all be demanding a higher standard of ethics in public office. That means electing people with strong character.

I am sorry to say that Rich Sybert has not shown the character needed to hold elective office. I would encourage 37th District voters to pick one of the many other candidates running.

Since Rich Sybert cannot even buy his way into office, as his record-breaking campaigns in 1994 and 1996 show, now he thinks that by vandalizing his opponent’s campaign signs he can win this election.

Why is this man so desperate to get into political office that he will try to buy a win and, when that fails, twice, resort to activities common to street gang members?
