County OKs Funds to Repair Sewer Line Along Paseo Canyon

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors has allocated funds to repair a corroded sewer line along Paseo Canyon Drive and adjacent streets.

The board awarded a $50,000 contract to Santa Fe Springs-based Insituform Southwest to insert plastic liners into the existing 8- and 10-inch clay pipe line, which is much cheaper than replacing the entire line, said Dennis Morefield, a spokesman for the county department of public works.

The repairs, which will begin in June and take about 20 working days to complete, should be good for several decades, he said.
