Anniversary Parade Features Paul Rodriguez

In celebration of its 40th birthday, Pico Rivera is having a huge anniversary parade today that will have numerous bands, floats and drill teams.

The parade, honoring the merger in 1958 of two towns, Pico and Rivera, will begin at 10 a.m. at Passons Boulevard and Rivera Road and ends at Smith Park, where there will be a street fair.

Comedian Paul Rodriguez will be the grand marshal and actress Lupe Ontiveros, who was in the movie “As Good as It Gets” and has lived in Pico Rivera for decades, will be the special celebrity guest.
