A Costa Mesa man who allegedly sent a mail bomb to a prostitute who spurned him was indicted Friday in a Los Angeles court in connection with two other attempted bombings.

Prosecutors said Darryl Anthony Carr, 34, twice tried to blow up a pickup truck that belonged to the prostitute’s boyfriend. The bombs failed to detonate.

Carr is scheduled to be arraigned Monday on the new charges, Assistant U.S. Atty. Mark Hardiman said.

The defendant already faces four felony counts in connection with a Feb. 6 mail bomb explosion in Santa Ana that seriously injured the roommate of the intended victim.
