Share

Loyola Marymount University has received a $500,000 grant from an educational foundation to expand the university’s library.

The university plans to use the money donated by the Fletcher Jones Foundation to add 60,000 square feet to the Von der Ahe Library. The $16-million expansion will be added in a separate building that will be connected to the current library by an overhead bridge. Construction is slated to begin later this year.

The new facility will include innovations such as a fiber-optic network connecting study and reading rooms and offices. There will also be laptop and satellite link.
