Ford Motor Co. said it is recalling 1.7 million pickup trucks and sport-utility vehicles because a faulty lug nut could cause the wheels to separate from the vehicles. Four injuries have been reported. The voluntary recall involves F-150 and most F-250 pickups and the Expedition and Navigator sport-utility vehicles from model years 1997 and ‘98, a spokeswoman for the Detroit-based auto maker said. The F-250s recalled do not include the F-series Super Duty model, and only vehicles produced through mid-April in the 1998 model year are being recalled. The F-series pickup is the country’s best-selling vehicle, with more than 746,000 sold last year. Ford shares rose 75 cents to close at $45.75 on the NYSE.
