Analysts’ Prediction Jolts Powerwave Stock Up 23%

Investors bolstered by a bullish report from analysts sent Powerwave Technologies Inc.’s stock jumping nearly 23% Tuesday.

Analysts at BT Alex. Brown Inc. predicted that the Irvine company, a maker of power amplifiers used in wireless telephone networks, will benefit from the current boom in the corporate use of wireless devices.

Powerwave’s stock rose $4.06, closing at a 52-week high of $22 a share in heavy Nasdaq trading.
