In “Asian Soups, Stews & Curries” (Macmillan, $25), author Alexandra Greeley shares recipes from all over Asia. Her written text suffers from a lack of depth; despite her many years of living and working in Hong Kong, several passages about some countries seem to have been gleaned from tourist office information, instead of from real experience. Yet Greeley has a real enthusiasm for her subject and has chosen a good sampling of Asian dishes, including Burmese lamb and noodle curry, Indonesian chicken noodle soup, Korean summer soy soup and Thai quail curry.
