Three Thousand Oaks men were arrested Wednesday afternoon following a two-week surveillance and undercover operation in which officers bought methamphetamine at the trio’s apartment complex, officials said.

Francisco Amendola, 33, was arrested on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine for sale. Amendola’s roommate, Michael Dee Pyland, 25, and a neighbor, Thaddeus Warren Berry, 43, were booked on suspicion of being under the influence, said Sheriff’s Capt. Dennis Carpenter.

Sheriff’s investigators began the stakeout after receiving a tip that Amendola was allegedly distributing methamphetamine from his apartment in the 600 block of Hampshire Road, Carpenter said.

A search of the apartment netted $700, a gun and a small amount of the drug, Carpenter said.

Amendola remained jailed in lieu of $20,000 bail. Bail for Berry and Pyland, who remain in custody, was set at $5,000. Carpenter said more arrests are expected.
