With a little more than a month left to take care of all that spring cleaning, Simi Valley residents will have the opportunity to cart all that unwanted debris to the dump at no charge.
From 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, residents will be permitted to drop their household rubbish off at the Simi Valley Landfill and Recycling Center, 2801 Madera Road.
In addition to ordinary garbage, the landfill will accept dismantled household appliances, cleaned concrete and asphalt, wood and other items, such as leaves and other organic refuse.
No commercial or hazardous waste will be accepted.
Residents are also asked to separate all recyclable material from rubbish.
To use the dump, participants will have to show proof of Simi Valley residency.
For information, call the Simi Valley Landfill and Recycling Center at 579-7267 or the city at 583-6861.
