Dent Puts On an Exhibition

Share

An exhibition between the Baltimore Orioles and top prospects from three of their farm teams showcased the talent of center fielder Darrell Dent (Montclair Prep). Dent, who plays for the Frederick Keys of the Class-A Carolina League, went three for four with two triples and scored two runs. Dent is batting only .239, but has stolen 12 bases.

Right-handed pitcher Josh Towers (Hueneme High, Oxnard College) was invited to the exhibition but he didn’t get in because he pitched the day before for Frederick. Towers, a 6-foot-1 right-hander, is 2-1 with a 1.73 earned-run average. In 36 innings he has struck out 32 while allowing only 18 hits and four walks.
