Council Politics

In your Political Briefing for May 8 (“Getting It Done”), your writers list the many accomplishments of freshman City Councilwoman Cindy Miscikowski and wonder how long her “luck” will last.

In Woodland Hills, we are very familiar with the skills capabilities and hard work of Cindy as she worked for so many years as chief deputy to Marvin Braude, and that’s precisely why we elected her. Seldom have voters been given such a qualified and knowledgeable candidate and we were thrilled to finally give her the role she has spent so many years training for.

Councilwoman--Because of a typing error, an incorrect word appeared in a letter to the Valley Edition May 17. The letter, from Sandy Enfield about Los Angeles City Councilwoman Cindy Miscikowski, should have read, “Our ‘luck’ was getting Cindy, and we wish other districts were as lucky.”

Don’t chalk her deeds up to “luck.” We of the 11th District know better! Our luck was getting Cindy, and we wish other Democrats were as lucky!
