Memorial Day Event Planned at Cemetery
The Simi Valley chapter of the Disabled American Veterans and several area organizations will host a Memorial Day celebration of remembrance.
The event, at 10 a.m. May 25 at Simi Valley Cemetery, 1461 Thompson Lane, will include flag-raising and benediction ceremonies as well as the placement of wreaths at soldiers’ gravestones.
The Valley Bible Community Church Choir will sing selections including “America the Beautiful.”
Officials such as Supervisor Judy Mikels and Mayor Greg Stratton are expected to attend.
The Memorial Day event will be followed by a small gathering at the Elks Lodge, 1561 Kuehner Drive.
