Workshop, Tour to Focus on Future of Beachfront Pavilion

Share

City Recreation and Parks officials and representatives from City Councilwoman Ruth Galanter’s will host a public workshop Saturday to discuss the future reuse of the beachfront Venice Pavilion.

The pavilion, built in 1959, was closed in the 1980s for health and safety reasons, and remains vacant and in disrepair. Ideas for the facility on Ocean Front Walk at the foot of Windward Avenue range from demolishing it to restoring it as a theater, its original use.

A complete building and site assessment report prepared by RRM Design Group is available for review at the Venice Public Library, 501 S. Venice Blvd.

The public will be allowed to tour the pavilion at 9 a.m. The workshop will be held at the adjacent Graffiti Pit from 10 a.m. to noon.
