Remote Imaging Posts Small 1st-Quarter Profit

International Remote Imaging Systems Inc. posted a small profit in its first quarter after a net loss last year on a 5% increase in revenues.

IRIS reported a net profit of $3,806 in the quarter that ended March 31, compared with a net loss of $202,075 in the same period a year earlier, while its revenues in the latest quarter rose to $6.6 million, up from $6.3 million.

The company also said that it is making a greater effort to sell its products overseas. This month it received an $850,000 order from Turkey.
