100 Summer Jobs to Be Offered to Teenagers

In an attempt to give teenagers work experience and a way to make money over the summer, the city will offer 100 jobs to youths ages 14 to 18.

Teenagers who qualify for jobs in the Summer Youth Employment Program will perform up to 160 hours of work at $5.75 per hour. A variety of part-time and full-time jobs will be available in the areas of general office work, child care and maintenance.

Applicants must have proof of age with a date of birth, proof of residence in Carson and a Social Security card. Registration is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Carson Community Center, 3 Civic Center Plaza. A second registration will be held June 6. Information: (310) 952-1737.
