Police are asking for help in finding a possible suspect in a March double homicide that detectives originally believed was a murder-suicide.

The man, who is sought for questioning in the deaths of Stephanie Larkin and Derek Mattingly, is described as white, about 5-foot-7 and 130 pounds.

He has wavy hair that is combed back and has a thin face with a sharp nose.

He was seen driving a Cadillac with a white vinyl roof, gold trim and red interior, police said.

The exact model is not known, but investigators believe it was built in the late 1980s or early 1990s.

Police said that several witnesses had seen a man fitting this description near the building on North Grand Avenue where Larkin, 30, and Mattingly, 28, were found dead March 17.

Detectives initially suspected the roommates’ deaths were a murder-suicide, but no weapon was found in the two-bedroom unit.

They later determined that both victims had been shot more than once.

Anyone with information is asked to call Santa Ana Police Investigator Joe Munoz at (714) 245-8357.
