CKE Names 2 Senior Vice Presidents

* John J. Dunion has been named senior vice president of purchasing for CKE Restaurants Inc. in Anaheim. Before joining the company as vice president of purchasing in September 1996, Dunion was vice president of purchasing for Unigate Restaurants Inc. in Dallas. Before that, he held purchasing and technical positions with Foodmaker Inc. and Taco Bell Corp. In addition, Michael W. Liby was appointed senior vice president of operations and is responsible for all Carl’s Jr. company restaurant operations, as well as training, facilities repair and maintenance, operations development and public relations. Liby has been with the company since 1987, serving as director of loss prevention and safety, director of training and special projects and, most recently, vice president of operations.

Claire Bilby has been named vice president of sales and travel operations for the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim. She will head the travel industry sales and marketing efforts for Disneyland both domestically and internationally. Bilby was formerly director, international marketing for Walt Disney Attractions in Orlando.

John L. Clendenin and Andrew J. Sukawaty have joined the board of directors of Powerwave Technologies Inc. in Irvine. Clendenin is the former chairman and chief executive of BellSouth Corp. Sukawaty is chief executive of Sprint PCS.

Patrick McLaughlin has been named vice president of corporate development for First American Title Insurance Co. in Santa Ana. He joined the company in 1988 as associate counsel. During that time, McLaughlin’s positions have included vice president-county manager for Solano County and county manager of Santa Clara County.

Peter R. Lowe has been named vice president of development engineering for HID Corp. in Irvine, a provider of radio frequency and Wiegand solutions for automated identification and remote transfer of data in access control and asset management applications. Lowe works at the company’s engineering center in Colorado. Michael E. Edmiston has been appointed vice president of manufacturing operations. He joined the company in 1995.

Larry Bradfield has joined Irvine Sensors Corp. in Costa Mesa in the newly created position of national sales manager. He was previously national sales and marketing manager for Pico Systems Inc. He has also held sales management positions at United Technologies Microelectronics Center, Fairchild Semiconductor Corp. and Intel Corp.

Patricia Robitaille has been appointed director of NexGen SI Inc.’s total customer asset management practice. She was formerly vice president and chief information officer at TAB Products Co. in Palo Alto. Before that, she was a consultant to IBM and director of information systems at Hadson Power Systems and Ultrasystems Defense, both in Irvine.

Dave Desper has been named first vice president of CB Richard Ellis in Newport Beach. He had been vice president of industrial properties. Desper specializes in the leasing and sale of industrial and R&D; corporate headquarters facilities in the central Orange County area.

David Silver has been chosen to serve a one-year term as chairman of AIIM International, an association for users and providers of information and document management technologies. Silver is a co-founder of Kofax Image Products in Anaheim, and has been president and chief executive since its creation in 1985.

Paul C. Gracey Jr. has been appointed vice president of Edison Mission Energy in Irvine, an Edison International company. Gracey oversees legal activities for the company’s Europe, Central Asia, Middle East and Africa division. Before joining Edison Mission Energy in 1992, Gracey practiced law in Southern California, specializing in project finance.

Janice Parks has been appointed account executive at Lawrence & Mayo Advertising in Newport Beach. She oversees the agency’s work for the California Nutrition Network. Parks had been senior manager of marketing and communications for the United Way of Orange County. Before that, she was manager of advertising and marketing for Copley Colony Cable TV Advertising in Costa Mesa.

Mike Walkey has been named to the newly created position of vice president of purchasing, systems for Ingram Micro Inc., a Santa Ana wholesale distributor of technology products and services. He has been with the company eight years.

Geoff Livingston has been appointed account supervisor for Bock Communications Inc. in Costa Mesa. Previously, Livingston was a senior editor with CommunicationsNOW Inc.

Betsy Kolberg has been named operations manager for the subprime lending division of Platinum Capital Group in Irvine. She has more than 20 years of experience in the mortgage industry.

Jason Grange has joined Gladstone International, an Irvine public relations firm, as an account executive. He was formerly a field representative for state Sen. Rob Hurtt (R-Garden Grove).
