An era will end Jan. 9, 1999, when Icelandair drops its 43-year-old service to Luxembourg. The airline will instead boost connections to Paris and Frankfurt, Germany, via Iceland, said the route was getting less business. . . . Today also marks the opening of “Jackson Pollack” at New York’s Museum of Modern Art, billed as the first U.S. retrospective on the artist in 30 years.
